About the show:
“A Streetcar Named Desire” is a text about people at a turning point. For those who reach the milestones and for those who have passed the milestones. There is no question of positives and negatives, as good literature never does. Nor is it about truth and lies, although there is a lot of talk about truth and lies. We are talking about people who love and who are ready to dip their hands in the moral dirt to preserve a shred of the illusion of their dignity. For people who are willing to sacrifice morality on the altar of happiness.
In the play “A streetcar named Desire”, power and powerlessness, truth and lies, morality and decadence, tenderness and cruelty collide. Love, morality, brotherhood, family are invoked, but the same truth thunders silently from the stage: Blanche, Stanley, Stella, Mitch, all of us, are equally unhappy. And we want just as much. For clarity in a cloudy world.
